Players who register* & PAY fees prior to January 31, 2017 will pay Early Bird Registration fees AND will have the option to participate in Fundraising (rather than paying the $75 buyout).
Players who register (OR PAY*) beginning February 1, 2017 will be subject to increased registration fees ( $25) and will NOT be eligible to participate in Fundraising (thus, be charged the $75 buyout).
*NOTE: The fee increase applies to players registering for Pinto (7-8), Mustang (9-10), Bronco (11-12) & Pony (13-14) Divisions. The Fundraising cutoff date applies to ALL Divisions. Payment arrangements are available by contacting our Registration Coordinator.
You are probably thinking...'Temps are sub-arctic and there will be 3' of snow on the ground on January 31, why do I need to register for baseball so early?'
Here's why...many of the administrative activities required to set up our programs (Coach identification, uniform ordering, scheduling, etc.) are completed in the January-early March timeframe. Early registration helps us accommodate as many players as possible for the upcoming season.
McLean County PONY Baseball is a volunteer-run organization. Our Coaches are our most visible volunteers and we could not make it through the season without them!
We also have opportunities to work 'behind the scenes' to help make baseball happen for over 1,200 players every year. We are currently seeking individuals to fill the following positions:
MCPB Board Member: Key responsibilities are to engage in running our organization and attend monthly Board meetings (2nd Monday @ 6:00pm). Board members are asked to take ownership of various responsibilities required for our organization to operate, demonstrate fiscal responsibility and support the mission of McLean County PONY Baseball. For questions or to express interest, please contact Steve Bruso.
2017 Summer League Division President: Key responsibilities are to coordinate one of our Divisions (currently we are seeking a Pinto (7-8 yr olds) & Pony (13-14 yr olds) Division President). Division Presidents coordinate coach identification, team-building, schedule reviews and rule development. This position is key to the operation of our Summer program. Volunteers filling this position can also be considered for current or future Board of Directors openings, depending on your interest. For questions or to express interest, please contact Steve Bruso.
Questions on these volunteer opportunities can be directed to the individuals noted above. General questions about volunteer opportunities can be sent to Steve Bruso.
