Please plan to join us for our 2015 opening day ceremony on Saturday, April 25th beginning at 8:15am for the Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony Divisions. As we celebrate the opening of another great PONY baseball season, we will take the opportunity to pay our respects to those who have fought for our freedom, celebrate 25 years of baseball at The PONY Complex and dedicate this season to those who we lost most recently in a tragic plane crash. The opening ceremony will begin at 8:15am and include:
The National Anthem sung by Jessica Dolan
Welcoming remarks by McLean County PONY Baseball President Steve Bruso
Ceremonial first pitch will be delivered on the Pony Division field
Additional events include:
Normal CornBelters' Corny & Sonic's Chime mascots will be in attendance
Wiffle ball homerun derby (Shetland Field) 9:00-10:30am to support McLean County PONY Baseball Jeffrey A. McClelland Memorial Scholarship fund. Entry fees for the homerun derby will $5 for 10 swings or $10 for 25 swings.

In 1988, Dennis Shira mortgaged his home and sold unsecured "PONY Notes" to finance the purchase and construction of what is now The PONY Fields at the Shira Baseball Complex. If you have not read this August 1, 1993 Pantagraph article about The PONY Complex, please do!
One item to note is that the fees to play McLean County PONY Baseball in 1993 ranged from $45-$75...today (22 years later) our registration fees range from $45-$90.
If you have been to the complex within the past few years, you should take as much pride as we do in the fact that we have the best natural turf fields in the area (and beyond)! We are always looking to incrementally improve our programs, our fields and our complex...none of the improvements could be done without the extensive labor hours provided by our volunteers...and (of course!) funding.
McLean County PONY Baseball has been privately funded since its inception in 1986. No taxpayer funds were used to purchase, build or maintain our programs/facilities. Player fees, sponsorships and private donations are invested back into our programs and facilities.
The following are items we are looking to fund in the coming years:
Enhanced practice facilities at The PONY Complex
Paved parking lot
Field Maintenance equipment
Replace deteriorating dugouts
Field fence replacement
Thank you for your continued support of McLean County PONY Baseball!!
The BEST place to play Youth Baseball in Bloomington/Normal since 1986!!
McLean County PONY Baseball (MCPB) is part of the national PONY (Protect Our Nation's Youth) organization and is staffed by volunteers. Continued success is dependent on volunteer support, so your help in any way is appreciated.
Over 1200 players will play baseball at MCPB this summer! Thanks to all the coaches, parents and volunteers that make this possible.
PONY baseball is divided into leagues, based on a player's age as of April 30:
